I'm just glad that you're still as accessible as ever. As for my perspective, working for large companies can sometimes make you feel like one of the "masses". Cutting through the corporate bureaucracy is something I don't miss as well.
I'm actually seeing this as a temp employee for a huge retailer right now. Everyday, the layers of getting things done just shuts down efficiency.

I could go on but I won't...lol

Tony, I've been thinking about this a lot. It' will be one year on the 16th that I started the new job. It's been a blessing... and a LOT of hard work. I've been thinking of writing a post about it... but it seems too epic and I'm not sure I've sorted out how I feel after a year. It's been an incredible amount of change. Not only moving, but working in a large corporation... I have a question for you... how does it seem from your perspective?

Movers - Edmonton, Alberta, Canada?
My boyfriend and I will be moving to Calgary from Edmonton at the end of May. Basically what we want to do is pack all of our boxes ourselves, rent a U-Haul Van and then hire someone to move all of the boxes & furniture into the U-Haul van and then drive it to Calgary, then unload all of the boxes & furniture at the final destination... Do you know of anyone or any companies that will offer this kind of service for the Edmonton, Alberta area?

Heather! I was so psyched when I saw your comment a while back! Thanks a million for leaving me a note. Yeah, it's totally true about leaving San Francisco. I sometimes can't believe that I don't live there anymore but you are so right there is awesomeness everywhere. I smile every day after I notice something else I think is cool about SD. It's good.

So, it is really interesting to see this shift in content.. especially to have come from traditional media. But what's the most powerful thing in this phase of content is the real connection with your audience. It's exactly what I was missing when I worked in TV.

So, thank you again for the note and hope you forgive me for the late response. I've been so overwhelmed with new town, new job, new operating system!!! You know what I mean.

Congrats Sukhjit! I can see the "man how am I gonna live anywhere but San Francisco?" in your eyes. I know that feeling. I've been mostly in Long Island for a couple of years and no place is SF but the Internet and awesomeness are everywhere.

Your career is really following the path of "content" because every company needs to make good stuff now and have genuine relationships. So yes, there will be fewer big media funded shows but there will be more creative work made by individuals and companies. You'll obviously be part of that. Have fun with it.

Hey @bundini ! Sorry it's taken me forever to write to you! I moved on last week and started my new job at Sony on Monday! Had to respond to your comment because you are so right about the new job. I feel like I found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with this new position at Sony Electronics. I will, without a doubt be working very very very hard, but it's community building, content creation and gadgets... all things that make me happy! As for SF... well, I miss it (very much). But San Diego is really great. It has already surpassed my expectations and I keep finding things that make me like it more. I also have to say, my community of friends is scattered around the world, and I've heard from so many people about my job and the move.. I actually feel like everyone is doing all this with me. May sound crazy, but it's been quite the comfort with all these changes. Anyway, always a pleasure to hear from you! Hope you'll make sure to let me know when you visit SD! I will give you a tour of SonyHQ! --sukhjit
